I firmly believe there is a special place in hell for those who abuse and neglect domestic animals. Humans domesticated these animals to be our companions we OWE them to provide them the appropriate care and love.
A recent case of this, the people moved and left their dog behind. Yes they just LEFT him there! He made it to a shelter where the wonderful people from
Greater Ohio Boxer Rescue stepped up to save him. A Boxer that should weigh about 75lbs checked in on the scales at 43lbs! When the intake worker went to see him all she could say was "OMG! OMG! OMG!" So his name is Otto Moby Gordon, pretty fancy handle isn't it?
Things have been touch and go for Otto. He spent a few days at the vet's office after his temperature dropped and his gums started turning white instead the normal, healthy pink. He's back with his foster mom now and on a high protein diet, lots of small meals. Word is though that somedog may have gotten some Arby's on the way home from the vet's as a treat for not giving up.
If you could send some good vibes and prayers if you believe in that, Mr OMG could really use them. You find more info about him on his
webpage.

Lots and lots of good vibes - and lots of love headed to Mr. OMG. What a great spirit this Boxer boy has. Thanks to GOBR for giving him the love and care he deserves.
ReplyDeleteOMG is certainly the correct name for this poor boy. The 3rd photo really shows this. Continued prayers and well wishes for this sweet fellow!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid this post isn't going to be shown the the monsters after school.
ReplyDeleteI feel sick. Such a beautiful face. You can see he wants to be goofy and play but doesn't have the physical energy. :-(
Please keep us posted with pictures. Lots of them!!
ReplyDeleteLove me some OMG!! Oh, my heart aches for him but I'm SO glad he is enjoying food... a little at time but he is not starving anymore. I hate to say I hate people sometimes but I have nothing better to say about people who do this. My Roxie was one of the worst neglect cases I've seen.... ever. I cannot comprehend people being so cruel, if I even so much as bump my Boxers I'm apologizing profusely....Thank you for helping him....

ReplyDeleteHe needs all the loving from afar, prayers and healing vibes he can get by all means.
Lots of love to OMG. So many tears for him.
ReplyDeleteOhio had some pretty cold days this winter, I don't know how he survived that being so thin.
ReplyDeleteSending lots of love and keeping Otto in my prayers for a great recovery. Not sure if this is the place to say it, but I've seen many dogs on Go Boxer Rescue's site that they saved, I'm sure they can use any donations anyone would like to make. Just a thought!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I always link to GOBR's webpage when I do a blog update that refers to them. So people don't have to go looking for it. :-)
DeleteI could barely look at that sweet face and his condition without wanting to run right out the door and avenge him! I hope he gets ALL THE LOVE and ALL THE FOOD!
ReplyDeleteR.I.P sweet Otto
