Intro: Lily
Another intro today, of another lovely Boxer lady.
We lost Mz Petey back in October and about a month later were contacted by her rescue about a new young Female boxer. Of course we jumped at the chance so I would like to introduce Lily. She’s estimated to be around 2 now. She came into rescue with the tick borne disease (anaplasmosis) and was discovered to have a genetic liver disease (hepatic microvascular dysplasia). Of course that did not stop us from bringing her home and as long as we keep her on a low protein diet her disease should be manageable.
Jack, our little chihuahua, was excited to have a new big lady to follow around. They have become quite companionable.
Lily is all boxer and has no problem stealing my chair.
She loves everyone but, sometimes, finds it hard to get everyone in her loving embrace. Here she tries her hardest with my husband (left) and uncle (right).
She also has the boxer drool down pat.

Intro: Schatzie
We got a new to us rescue last October. She is related to our guys, her grandmum was Zito's mum's sister. Both nice German girlies. She is what I think is called Red Stag and a totally beautiful color.
She came with a reputation for being a bossy girl and true to form walked in the front door, lined the boyz up and told them she was the boss. They just looked at her and shrugged and said "ok, job's yours". I think she was prepared to have to "campaign" for the job, not with our two guys, they were missing their previous girlie boxer boss.
Her first formal picture......Left to Right: Zito, Ule and Schatzie.
We had to find a name for her, her German name was a tongue twister for us, it took all of us about a week or so to understand each other. Third one is her and Ule "sharing" a sun spot in the living room, they are both into getting their Vit. D the easy way.
They also have become tight pals and do the boxer wrasslin thang. They take turns "killing" each other, bouncing around and making loud, vicious sounding noises. One gets to bite the leg of the other, the other chewing on the neck of the leg biter. They then reverse positions and biting attacks. Good thing they are best buddies. Zito has been pretty much sitting out this action while he didn't feel good, but is now bouncing around a bit with them. He did miss the photo ops though.

The Blog I Didn't Write
It's been forever since I wrote anything here, although not quite nearly so long as I've been writing this post in my head. That's been since last October when my handsome and beloved Brindle left me. He was a fabulous boy and we had so many adventures together on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
He wasn't really a show off but if I gave him the chance he could demonstrate he was a smart guy. Even as he got older he just got more handsome with his distinguished white face.

My friend Lorena took this photo of us just over a year ago, I can't thank her enough for this.
Another favourite photo is from not long before he was gone. Typical Max, owning the couch, wrapped in his blankie.
Of course I brought him back home where he resides alongside Wee Max and Spencer. Never forgotten, always loved.
In something of a postscript, I took this quote to heart: "When I die please don't say I'll never have another dog. Search for the ones who are abandoned and forgotten, give them a second chance and let them take my place. Honour my life by saving another."
She was at the shelter before the Brindle died, I brought her home as a hospice case in his honour. She decided she had things to do before she died and she's still here. Her name is Nora and of course she's Brindle.
