Resilience

Today I am inspired to share some special dogs with you. Not Boxer Mailing List dogs but Boxer Rescue Canada dogs. Velvet, Gunner and Mercy live in High River, Alberta which was devastated by flooding this summer. As their town and family recover they are a source of solace, comfort and often humour to help in their own way. Here's a bit about them.

***********************************************

The white boxer with brown ear is Gunner, he will be 2 in October. The other white boxer is Velvet. Both came to us from Boxer Rescue Canada.

Gunner was a puppy and came right from the breeder, who we are still in contact with, but it was facilitated by BRC. He is sweet and goofy and funny, so full of love. He has an amazing connection with my oldest son. He really seems to get Aaron's aspergers and can pick up on his moods quite well.

Velvet came to us when she was 3ish. She's now 7ish. She is a sweet sweet girl, unless you are another dog. She's always been very motherly to our boys (Aaron and Adam both have aspergers). Velvet is my best friend. She comforts me and looks after my boys, when they play outside, I let Velvet out to watch over them and she does an amazing job. She was a breeding dog until they were done with her and she has maintained that motherly instinct. She is my constant companion. I never have to look far and there she is.

Mercy, the little white boston terrier/french bulldog is such a sweetie. Having just gone through this flood and we just lost our pug right before that, my sons absorb everyone's emotions. They are feeling our entire town's emotions right now and they don't understand how to disperse all or any of that sometimes. We were missing our DeJa (pug) and needed to help the boys too, we needed some Mercy. And she's helped us all

How Many Hands?

Have we all recovered from Canadian Thanksgiving? I'm not sure this household has but we're getting there. The Brindle celebrated by having a pedicure and wrapping the local groomer and vet around his various toes, as he does.

In the meantime we have some little turkeys to share. These guys are Treceder Boxer babies out of Rio and Sally that are 7 ½ weeks old, two boys and three girls left. They had some people coming to look at the boys middle of week. Jordyn, junior handler extraordinaire, of course wants to keep them all!!

The question raised was, "how many people does it take to get photos of Boxer puppies?" The punchline? It's three, one to stack the little wigglebutts, one to wave toys and make noise like a mad person and one to try and capture the beasties with a really good camera.

Plotting...

Sometimes you have to be suspicious of what they are up to.

Paddy says: "So Max, if you knock down this gate..."

"...we could go on an adventure.

Mama's Faves

A share from a long time BML member.

*****

I have been on the BML off and on for over 10 years.  Zeus is my 2 yr old boxer.  I have had him since he was 8 weeks old, and he is my heart dog.  I have tons of pictures of him but below are some of my favorites from this year.

Fun For a Cause

One of our BML members, recently attended a charity dog walk. Much to her pleasure her husband decided to go with her which meant both her Boxers, Rubin and Tango, could attend as well.

Much to our delight family pictures were being taken that day and she decided to share that with us. I give you Rubin and Tango with their mom and dad.

Celebrate!

Here's one I feel badly about. One of our BML babies, Mikki, had a special milestone last month, she turned 12 on September 11th and I didn't get her photos up for her special day. Huge apologies to her family and here are some photos of the special lady.

Playing Catch Up

My unintended hiatus has left me with some photos that have been in my inbox for a while. Such as today's selection that were taken in early August.

I can pretty much guarantee you that the subject has changed since these were taken but they have to go up because... Sieg Adam is the cutest guy.
