Thinking back... Spencer

Today I'm taking the blog back for myself, for a special reason. April 22nd, is the twelfth anniversary of a particular Boxer having come into my life.

His name was Spencer and he was a very special White Boxer. He came to me, thanks to Marta Nettlefield of Boxer Rescue Canada, all the way from California. He was meant to have arrived a little earlier than he did but he missed his connection in Philadelphia. Later, as I came to know him, I realized that he must have conned someone into letting him visit the duty free.

The idea had been to bring home a prince for Kate, little did I know that she was getting the court jester instead. He wasn't so handsome when he arrived, he had mange and he was pink. My vet's first thought was "what have you done". But a few months of good food, lots of love and regular baths and he was turned into the most beautiful boy.

He was only eight when he left me, with a huge hole where he had been. My only conclusion? They needed a greeter at the Bridge and his reputation for welcoming any and all species, especially babies, most definitely preceded him.

Here are a few of my favourite photos of my my sweet boy Spencer, or as my niece called him, the White Spotted Goof.
My silly guy, you can see here that both his bottom canines are gone.

Doing the Boxer thing with Max.

Run Spencer! I have no idea where he's going but he's about to hit the house...
Snoozing with his girl, Kate.
My handsome guy.
