Foster Dogs - Tonka

So shortly after her arrival here my new foster girl, Tonka, was spayed. Big surgery for a big girl. Of course the first while when she came home she was still a bit dopey.
This lizard makes a nice pillow.

Once she started waking up we had to try her with the e-collar. This ended up being a failure as it stressed her too much.

The final solution? A towel held on by the Brindle's Thundershirt. Eventually we removed the towel but left the shirt as it still kept her from getting at the incision. Hopefully her staples will come out this week.

    Poor Tonka ~ we know all about stressed-out puppers with E-collars. Glad you were able to find an acceptable alternative!

    Tonka IS a big girl ... is she also on a diet? Max is so generous in allowing her to wear his thunder shirt and hang around his lizard. ☺

      She is dieting after a fashion, to put on some pounds. Tonka was very thin when she came into rescue and had to wait to be spayed until she was a healthy weight. She's actually just about perfect now, you can just see her ribs and she has a nice "tuck" waist. :-) She's a much stockier build than the Brindle which is why she's so close to him in numbers.
