Retirement Home for Cleo

I missed a day! Sorry folks but even I take a vacation now and then.

Today is a special kind of share from a special kind of person. The kind that takes in the old Boxers and gives them the best place to finish out their days. Read on...

This is our dear "foster" Cleo.

She came to us 7 days after Owen died. The Sacramento shelter had kept her much longer than her allotted time, but were forced to schedule her euthanasia for the following day, so I drove up and brought her home. She is not really a foster anymore - at 12+ years, with tumors, vision and hearing impairments, severe orthopedic issues and a pronounced heart arrhythmia, who would want her?

Well, WE do! She's eased our heart ache and brought such joy. Happiness is an old dog to be sure.

  3. She's beautiful and at her age still a goofy boxer. Good for you and her. A lot of people wouldn't take a dog her age let alone with her conditions. Bravo!
