Welcome to Fostering

Since my friend lost her beloved Dudley in the fall I've been on her case to help out with Florida Boxer Rescue. Well I guess I harassed her enough because as of this week she has her first foster dog.

Meet Otto, a two year old white Boxer Boy full of energy and Boxer crazies.

Otto did good riding in my car.  He did not wiggle out of his seatbelt like Duds did. There are white boxer hairs all over the place.

Apparently, running laps around my backyard is exhausting. While he's really smart, he has not figured out the doggy door yet.  Took Duds awhile, too. Otto is enjoying Duds' legacy toys but as you can see, he prefers the floor to the fluffy soft dog bed that's less than a foot away from him. Apparently, it's not close enough to me.  We'll make a trip to the pet store so he can pick out  something of his own.

He was so into his chewie that he slid off his bed and under mine. Eventually he got stuck under there.

He has good house manners and has not tried to get on my bed or any of the furniture.  (Even though the furniture was purchased explicitly for canine comfort) I can't go anywhere in my house without a little white shadow.

  5. Oh Katie, I'm so happy for you. You'll love fostering, I know. You'll wonder why you waited so long. Otto is so lucky to have landed with you!

  6. What a great guy you ended up with. It is fun to foster and help these guys on to their forever homes - sometimes that ends up to be your house.

  7. Congrats on fostering. Otto is a handsome young man. Could he possibly become a foster failure in the near future?
