Getting Through Winter

I know we all wish it were spring but in the meantime here's a few beasties doing their best to wait it out.

This is the way my dogs spent most of the winter, vying for position around the stove.

The tiger cat is Pepper and he has trained many dogs and taught respect.  The brindle is Sam, the white girl is Rose, the flashy fawn is Minnie who has DM and the little fawn guy with 3 legs is Fenway. The gray cat in behind the stove in the last pic is Angel.

    LOVED your pictures!! What a beautiful and wonderful group you have there! I know all about that dreaded DM.. my Elsie and Austin had it. I hope Minnie does as good as possible for as long as possible.... they all look so happy (and warm!) together! Thanks for sharing!!

    A wider stove is called for..........two out of three of ours can manage to share the front of our fuel oil stove, the third one is on thyroid meds and he is not a "chilly willy" kinda guy, so he doesn't compete for space there, he'd melt into a puddle of sugar water.......... thanks for the daly laugh.     Reminds me of the "Garden of Eden" effect of when we were younger and had 3 dogs, 6 indoor cats (with access to outdoor cat room), many tortoises, and a bird aviary. Ah youth! Now we have 2 dogs and one tortoise:-)

    I simply can't imagine my guys hanging around a wood stove. They would be headed in the opposite direction! LOL! Great pics ... love your entire crew, Dot!

    wall to wall dogs, wonderful pictures. Looks like when I go to Beth's when she has Trinity River, Jude, and Jack, Then I bring my Momma. more so when I had Coco, that made six dogs laying about!

    What a wonderful furamily you have...I always find it amazing what heat magnets they are...Max and Nemo love to look into the fire in the fireplace..(with Mom watching closely of course)
