I lost Bella on Sept. 16th. I took her to a specialist on the 13th for an ultrasound which revealed a huge tumor. I brought her home for the weekend knowing that it would probably be our last time together. On the 16th our vet started surgery and the tumor was so invasive the kindest thing I could do was release her from her suffering and send her to the bridge. Even if he had been able to remove the tumor she would only have had a short time and it would have been pain filled and miserable for her. When I dropped her off at the vet I think she knew it would be the last time she would see me. When the tech took her leash Bella kept coming back to me which was very unusual for her she was always happy to see everyone at the vets office. I kept giving her kisses and telling her I loved her. I always called her my angel dog as she rescued me as much as I rescued her. I miss her so very much, she took a huge piece of my heart with her. She was truly my Heart dog.
