Ready for some puppy pictures? Ready for some cute of a great magnitude? Here's the story of little Miss Shilo as sent to the BML.
"Remember last week when the mama of Pawprint Boxers posted about that pup Pearl? Well
guess who is going to be her human.
We are working out the details of
picking her up later in the month of Jan. I can’t wait to see her in
person. The pictures she has sent me just makes me want to go where she
is at and cuddle her. I am so in love with her. My 15 yr old cat is going
to hate seeing another pup come into this home. She finally has the
three brats trained just like she wants and now she will have to start
all over again. Her job of training dogs to fear her never ends.
I am
going to be changing the puppy's name to Shilo. For some reason I like that name
and decided my next animal was going to be named that. Let the fun
begin with potty training and crate training but it will all be worth it
to see her grown into a wonderful dog.
My husband was hoping to find me
a white one by Xmas but I will take a late gift like that anytime. The
road trip to get her will be worth it. Oh no about 12 hours round trip
with the three brats and then add a boxer puppy in the mix coming back
will I be insane or sane when we get back. Only time will tell.
Have a good day and hope everyone has a safe and good New Years. Hope
next year bring less boxers leaving our world and crossing over into the
rainbow bridge.
I will keep everyone posted on the new baby."

Warmer Climate
Today we have an update from one of our BML members who recently made a somewhat drastic move. She sent me a note, and photos, to share with her update on how it's going. For those that don't know or have forgotten Duds is an Old English Sheepdog/Boxer cross, I think he's quite handsome.
"Dear Listers,
Duds & I are getting comfortable in our new digs in Saint Petersburg, FL. We had a very long drive down 95, including 2 hours of parking lot outside Fredricksburg, VA. We stopped & stayed at South of the Border in Dillon, SC. Their pet-friendly rooms are very large and very comfortable for dogs. Duds had his very own hotel bed that he didn't have to share with people. It was a little spendy, though. We were so tired that we had to stop. Both my companion and I got a little sick from the diner food there, so be warned. Pretty much everything was closed up at 9pm when we arrived on Saturday night. It was an uneventful trip, fortunately.
Duds is enjoying his yard, and he caught a lizard the first day we were here. He pawed it until it stopped. He has a new funny thing now - instead of asking to go out, he is now asking to go for Walkies. We had a nice long walk today and saw some new (to him) wildlife. White birds with long legs & long bills (but not egrets) and a snapper turtle in the creek nearby. There are otters in the creek as well, but we haven't seen them yet.
I stepped in poo in the yard every day (sometimes twice!) 'till I got a new scooper. Haven't needed one in 6 years.
Mr. Smarty-pants figured out how to open the back gate on the first day, so it gets bungee'd shut now. Also, he is never left out unattended. The neighbor dogs (PB-mixes) on the other side of the fence bark mercilessly at him. Both me and my neighbors are careful to not have the dogs out at the same time, for quiet sake.
I've attached a photo of Duds enjoying the yard and the sunshine. I'm certain that he appreciates the sunbathing. Hope all of you had a lovely holiday weekend and a super New Years!"

Boxer Kisses
I'm a bit behind because of the Christmas cards and travelling but I couldn't wait to share these photos. Boxers just make friends wherever they go. Please note that the test results mentioned in the text came back and Nikki has cancer, she could use some good Boxer vibes from all of us.
"I had a very special boxer visitor at the store on the 20th
of December. Sandy who is a fellow BML member and my mentor
with FLBR brought her girl Nikki by to meet me. She warned me that
Nikki was a little shy with people at first... You will see that in
these photos.
Nikki
is six years old, and an absolute sweetheart. Sandy is waiting to hear
back from some tests that Nikki had earlier in the week. She has a
huge lump on her throat. Of course, we're praying
for the best possible news. I had so much fun getting hugs &
kisses from this adorable boxer girl.
And I think Nikki was having as much fun giving me hugs and kisses- but we finally got a good picture."
