I missed a birthday last week. The Brindle and I hope Sam had an awesome day. Here's his birthday tribute from his "mom"
************
Sammy, as he was originally known and I got to know each other when he
was 6 months old. He was a scrawny little thing with dysentery and
totally uncontrollable. It took a couple of months to clear up his
stomach issues and then he grew. As he grew, we managed to get control
of him part of the time. He went to obedience classes and calmed down a
lot.
By the time he was 3 years of age I knew he had a real problem: OCD!
After a lot of research, he was prescribed generic prozac and is still
on it. Whenever he gets stressed, he chases his tail. He used to do it
all of the time without warning, change direction and during the
change, would rip and tear anything nearby! After meds, a different
dog. He still does it occasionally, but not often.
Always ready to play chase or just plain dodge the white beast.
A favorite occupation.
More rest.
This gentleman now known as Sam is still quite the guy. His birthday is
Feb. 1 and he will be 12. Today, while watching out the window, he
spotted a couple of gray squirrels under on of the bird feeders. He
almost flew through the dog door and across the deck after them. He
chased them and dove into a pile of snow about 4 feet deep after them.
They managed to escape, but not by much. He may be sporting an almost
white muzzle, but he has a young heart and lots of spirit.

Happy belated 12th Birthday Sam!! Zoe likes to chase some of the squirrels when they dare come into the yard lol May you have many, many more birthdays!!
