Smart Little Lady (part I)

One of our agility competitors was recently regaling us with stories of her "baby" girl's aptitude for that sport. She sent in some terrific photos to backup her story.

Hayley's instructor finally sent me some great pictures from class.  Hayley took her very first class late last year and now has mastered every piece of equipment on an agility course.  I think her favorite is the teeter, it is definitely an E-Ticket ride!

I expect her to be competing by January if not earlier.  We still need a bit of work on self control so I am not rushing her.

  1. Great shots and congratulations on training Hayley so well. How did you train the weaves? My trainer just got channel weaves which she says are easier than the 2 x 2 method that I used for Jade.

    1. I did a modified Susan Garrett 2x2 method. Channels are geat BUT they don't do squat about teaching the dog to find the entry from anywhere. There is a wealth of info on 2x2 training on Google and YouTube. We had 12 poles in 12 days, I am amazed.

    1. Thanks Maryann and I am thinking possibly this fall IF she keeps learning at the rate she is. By Jove this little girlie is the BEST agility partner I have ever been blessed with, even my instructor says she should get her MACH with no trouble.

    1. The best videos are taken at agility trials where they have a camera on a tall boom. I am afraid if someone stood next to the ring and tried to film her they MIGHT get Hayley nose prints on their lens and huge paws planted firmly in the middle of their chest!
