What it comes down to is that I don't have a favourite book, I have a favourite series of books. Although it might be too many to call a series. The author is Mercedes Lackey and in particular her Valdemar Universe. I have owned most of those books longer than any others I have.
But for something more recent. The best book I have read in recent months is Sarah's Key, I highly recommend. (and hope I get my copy back from my mom.)
