Reghiz and the Gang

A little catching up today with our buddy Reghiz and the rest of his pack. From Reghiz' mom:

"Here are some pictures of Reghiz and my Gang at the River for the first time.  Reghiz thinks water is the greatest thing ever.  My favorite picture is of him with flying ears in the water.  Apollo is the tan and Safari is the large Fawn."

Retirement Home for Cleo

I missed a day! Sorry folks but even I take a vacation now and then.

Today is a special kind of share from a special kind of person. The kind that takes in the old Boxers and gives them the best place to finish out their days. Read on...

This is our dear "foster" Cleo.

She came to us 7 days after Owen died. The Sacramento shelter had kept her much longer than her allotted time, but were forced to schedule her euthanasia for the following day, so I drove up and brought her home. She is not really a foster anymore - at 12+ years, with tumors, vision and hearing impairments, severe orthopedic issues and a pronounced heart arrhythmia, who would want her?

Well, WE do! She's eased our heart ache and brought such joy. Happiness is an old dog to be sure.

Xena and her Sibs

Yes, once again today with have a visit with Xena, the Boxer that does ALL the things.

From Xena's mom:

A few months ago after a dog show Xena's breeder stopped by our house for a visit.  She brought Xena's brother, Champ and sister, Chloe' along and the three litter mates had a great time running and playing together.  Here are a few pictures of the trio:

Left to right are Xena, Chloe' and Champ.
Xena, in an effort to be a good hostess managed to locate a recently-deceased bird... We were lucky that one of them didn't just grab it and run.
I had to intervene, and carry the carcass off to the trash can.  This (of course) was intensely entertaining to the trio.
With no more dead birds to distract them, brother & sisters headed for the fountain for a cool drink.  Champ wasn't waiting for "ladies first".
