Santa Moose

Small hiatus but not to worry, all is well, we're just busy doing the Boxer Rescue thing.

Today's post is a belated thank you from The Brindle himself to his gramma and aunt. We saw the Santa Moose in December but it was a little too pricy. Then gramma and aunt saw it on sale for half price and knew where it needed to be. Thank you also to our dear friend who transported it south in her suitcase, saving us all the ridiculous cost of postage.

For me?
I'll just take him over here...

So we can get to know each other...
While I chew on his head...

Babysitting

A sweet little visit with Caddie and Zoe.

*********************************

This is the neighbor's little boy that my brother in law helps get to school in the morning with his daughter. When his mom is running late from work or a dr appointment he comes over here to hang out until his siblings or his mom are home. I was able to take these cute pics today and thought I would share how much my girls, Caddie and Zoe, LOVE kids.

Silver Stories - Kellogg

Back again with a Silver Story. This is part one of three from a Silver Boxer specialist

***************************************

I'm a HUGE fan of silver Boxers and have trained myself not to get frustrated when people say they want a "young one" for the kids, or so they can train it, or so they know it, or so they don't inherit bad habits.  News Flash People:  ALL puppies have bad habits!!!! You have to WORK very hard to fix those, but suit yourself. They say to pick a dog with the same personality traits as you so this is why Silvers suit me:

  • Most silver Boxers already know everything--like me.
  • They like to spend a lot time relaxing on the couch—so do I!
  • They prefer a car ride to a long walk or, heaven forbid,a run!

  • As for as not wanting to lose them too soon, I consider myself there FOR THE DOG, not the other way around. So if there’s an old Boxer out there that needs a place to live the rest of his life, for a day or a few years, he’s welcome at my house and it’s the least I can do considering what every Boxer I’ve known has done for me. We are now happily on our 3rd silver Boxer.

The first one, Kellogg, was a permanent foster because he came in at age 7 with cancer. Kellogg taught us volumes about mast cell tumors and separation anxiety-he was a double-whammy!He was also mostly toothless and loved kids; we had two fun and crazy years with Kellogg!
