For a little background, back around November she had a bad bout with hives. We got that fixed and then she came down with the mast cell tumor. The operation to remove that was in January and a week later she had a stroke.
Since then what looks like bumps have shown up on her head and shoulders. They have not really spread past what you see in the pictures. You can run your hand over them and they aren’t raised. It looks dark underneath the spots but, if you part the fur, her skin is the normal pink not dark. They do not appear to bother her as she doesn't scratch them.
For the cancer we are keeping her on 2 benadryl 2 times a day along with 1 tagamet and 1 fish oil capsule 2 times a day. For the stroke the vet is having me give her 1 baby aspirin every other day. Did not know if some combination of this medicine could be causing this issue.
Even our vet is stymied on this one so was curious if anyone else might have experienced it before. I was wondering if the stroke did something to her system to have caused this.As you can see from the last photo this is really not disrupting her life or stressing her in anyway.

ReplyDeleteI sure don't have any answers, but I'm sending as many good wishes as I can muster. Miz Petey is a cutie pie for sure. Hmmmm ... are you sure those "bumps" aren't really some sort of hives? Not all hives itch. I'd think the Benadryl would take care of it, but maybe not.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could help but I have never seen this before either. However we are sending continuous Healing Boxer Vibes Miz Petey's way. She seems like a strong little fighter just like my late Spike who recovered well from 3 strokes and made it to 16 y/o. Hang tough Miz Petey.
