Roasted Brindle

It's hard to blog when your subject doesn't give you much to work with.

It's been hot here the last couple of weeks and hot is not popular with the smooshy faced canines. Mostly he prowls and hides out in the hedge, waiting for it to get cooler so he can do a rampage through the yard.

We are outside a lot right now though, enjoying the current rain free (touch wood!) period. He supervised the assembly of the new patio furniture and has given it his drool of approval.

Since my last entry we have celebrated Canada Day, yes even in Belgium. There was a good turn out and we had perfect weather. The Brindle elected to stay home for the evening, he's not a fan of crowds and it was cooler in the castle than in the field where the events were held. My personal touch of patriotism was pretty much a hit.

A few nights ago he and I went for a stroll around the garden. I scooped some cherries off one of the trees and checked out the rose bushes. Him? He ran, ate grass, ran, snuffled through the gardens and ran some more. And then? He came back to let me know he was, as always, having a great time.

After that, to finish off the night, he found himself a good spot to watch the world go by outside the castle gate.
